Will Ferrel has reportedly optioned Dr.Frank's novel, King Dork. Ferrell and parner Adam McKay (director and co-writer of "Talledega Nights") founded the company - Gary Sanchez Productions -- earlier this year, partnering with Paramount / Vantage to make indie films.

Their first release is the martial arts comedy "Footfist Way," which they plucked from the Los Angeles Film Festival. After executive Chris Henchy read King Dork, the company decided to make the cult novel the first storyline that Gary Sanchez Productions will develop entirely on its own.

The novel was written by Frank "Dr.Frank" Portman, ringleader of Oakland pop-punk outfit The Mr. T Experience and Frank is already working on the follow up.
