Big D and the Kids Table have posted a progress report on their new album Strictly Rude at Camp Street Studio in Cambridge, MA. Mighty Mighty Bosstones bassist Joe Gittleman is producing the 16 track full length, which is set to arrive in March or April. As I sit down on the couch my ears are filled with the bouncy fun horn line to "Fly Away", a minute and forty-five second poppy Ska song. We're listening back to Cuttler's bone solo and all I can do is smile. Today marks our 8th day at Camp St. and producer Joe Gittleman and engineer Adam Taylor deserve every possible medal you can award someone for the work they're doing. They are clocking 12 hours a day every day and have not asked for a break yet. The basic tracks are finished for all 16 songs and now we are knee deep in horns and vocals. I can confidently say this is going to be the best record we have ever done.
Prior to the new record Big D will release a split EP with China's Brain Failure titled From Beijing To Boston. It's expected in early 2007 via Bad News Records.

Chris and Josh from Plan 17 were here in the studio listening to the tracks last night. If you donât believe me then ask them what they think!!!!
Dave came in the studio yesterday afternoon with 5 copies of Alternative Press. We all eagerly opened the magazine and thrashed through the pages until we came upon the black and white photograph of us standing in the middle of a busy Toronto street hoping the cars will be forgiving and weâll be able to return home in one piece. It makes me feel so good to be listed as one of the most anticipated albums on 2007! There are 100s of bands putting out albums constantly. Everyone in Big D is so appreciative that we are given recognition for what we do. We love every single second of this band. Writing these songs, practicing these songs, recording these songs, and playing these songs keeps us alive.
Anyway, the horns are tracking "The One", a relaxed reggae tune. The horn line sounds ultra-smooth gliding over the rhythm section laying down the groove (Sean just made fun of me so hard for writing that in a sentence, but itâs so terrible that itâs staying.) Iâm going to take off now. Peace,
