Pelican have announced that in a few days, they'll enter the studio to work on an a new album which will be engineered by Andrew Schneider (Cave In, Daughters). The band has been playing four of the songs that will appear on the release on their tour with Daughters, but note "these songs only began to scratch the surface - there's a whole six more songs in the reserves that hadn't yet made it to the live performance stage."

The new album, which will be the follow-up to last year's The Fire in Our Throats Will Beckon the Thaw, is currently slated for a May release and according to the band will feature "more concise and more aggressive" songs.
