Alkaline Trio's Derek Grant has posted a brief status update. The band recently saw their new label fold and are currently free agents.
According to Derek:
There has been a lot of speculation on the fate of the band in lieu of V2s collapse - label or no, the machine moves forward. Eighteen songs have been penned, with more to come. Two weeks ago we ascended upon the City of Angels to record a bit - it was great to be back in the studio. it also provided the opportunity to collaborate with some new friends, the resulting noise was stellar.
As he said, the band is demoing in Los Angeles and is still set to record in April. They are still planning to appear on this summer's Warped Tour but Derek remains unsure of other touring plans.
The band recently bookended their six year relationship with Vagrant Records with the release of Remains.
