Atlanta's Black Lips are taking their storied live show to Europe later this month, gigging in a number of countries with plans to wind up in Israel by June.
The band is supporting their new live album and Vice debut Los Valentes Del Mundo Nuevo. It was recorded by John Reis (of Drive Like Jehu, Rocket From The Crypt and Hot Snakes) live in Tijuana, Mexico and follows up 2005's In The Red released Let It Bloom. A new studio full length is due from the band in September of this year.
The band's profile has risen significantly from their early Bomp roots. In recent months the self-proclaimed "flower punk" act was named the "hardest working band at SXSW" by the New York Times and was listed as an "Artist to Watch" by Rolling Stone.
