The New York Post has written up an expose on Crush Management, the agency behind emo-pop success stories Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco and The Academy Is… among others.
The article also draws comparisons between Crush and Lou Pearlman, the alleged con man and architect behind the boy band craze of the mid-to-late 90s, as both have "successfully marketed a critically dismissed, yet commercially successful, stable of cute boy bands to timid teenage girls not yet ready for real rebellion." Much is said about the age and supposed naivety of the bands' target audience. Whether you agree with their point or not, it's an interesting read and you can find the full article at the NY Post.
