"Oni Press and Springman Records have announced some of the bands scheduled to appear on April's Pounded: The Official Comic Book Soundtrack. The disc is inspired by the upcoming comic book by Brian Wood and Steve Rolston entitled "Pounded: A Punk Rock Love Story". Punk fans might recognize Steve Rolston's artwork from the "Punk Rock Strike" compilation series on Springman Records." That's a really cool idea. Click below for more info, and the list of bands. Speaking of punk comics, you might want to check out Oni Press' "Hopelss Savages" by Jen Van Meter, Xtine Norrie, & Chynna Clugston-Major. The bands scheduled to appear on the CD include: the Bouncing Souls, Bigwig, Dynamite Boy, Amazing Transparent Man, Fury 66, Pain, Big In Japan, Gob, Sloppy Meat Eaters, Strike Anywhere, One Man Army, Ann Beretta, King Monkey, the Eyeliners, Mr. T Experience, Mid Carson July, Squirtgun, and the Teen Idols.
In addition to a full-length audio CD, the Pounded disc also includes a bonus multimedia section. Fans can check out full-color Pounded comic strips, visit the creatorsâ websites, find a local comic specialty store and access information on the Pounded miniseries.
Pounded #1 (of 3) will feature 32 pages of black-and-white story and art, with a full color cover. With a cover price of $2.95, it will ship to comic book stores on April 3, 2002. Pounded: The Official Comic Soundtrack features exclusive Pounded artwork and multimedia section. It arrives in stores April 17, 2002.
