"This is quite possibly, the "punkest" thing I've ever heard of. Nickelodeon (purveyours of such cartoons and series as Ren and Stimpy, Pete and Pete, and as the School Bus Turns starring Dicky Barret) is airing a special aimed at educating young children about the importance of accepting same sex parents. The half-hour report, produced by Linda Ellerbee and featuring Rosie O'Donnell, includes comments from the Rev. Jerry Falwell -- who later joined conservative activists in urging Nickelodeon not to air it." I'm impressed that such a large children's network still has this kind of dedication to preserving the diversity of our nation. Maybe there is hope for the future after all. Kudos to Nickelodeon for stepping up on this issue. On a side note, Pete & Pete was pretty fucking punk rock. And if anyone can name the band who did their theme song [I own the band's CD, how dorky am I], 5 points to you.
