Radiohead will be releasing their next album, The King of Limbs, on Saturday February 19, 2011. The surprise release date was announced today, along with pre-orders for both vinyl and digital copies. The vinyl version will be made of two clear 10-inch records in a custom sleeve along with a CD, large artwork sheets, 625 small artwork sheets and a plastic case. Pre-orders are happening here.

Along with the common 320kbps MP3s, the band is also selling a full bitrate CD-quality .WAV download which should be a bit-for-bit exact copy of the physical CD. With high quality digital downloads and fixed pricing for both digital and physical copies, the release is quite different from 2007's In Rainbows, which used a suggested-donation model and lower quality MP3s. The donation-model was previously used by a number of musicians and labels but brought to mainstream attention by Radiohead. It forms the basis for one of the sales options for Band Camp as well.
