Straight from Virgil @ Suburban Home:
For the longest time, we have only had two bands on our roster, the Gamits and the Fairlanes. We were fine with having only two bands and we really weren't on the look for another band, that is, until Stereotyperider came along. Stereotyperider are from Phoenix, Arizona, and I have been friends with them for quite some time. They recently recorded an album with Matt Vanleuvan (formerly of the Gamits). When they finished recording the album, they sent me a copy and I have not stopped listening to it since. I am not sure how to describe their sound, but I can say that they have no problems sharing the stage with the Gamits or Hot Water Music. They are definitely melodic, but the music has a heavy element to it. Don't take my word for it, listen for yourself. There are a few mp3's on the Stereotyperider website, www.stereotyperider.com. We will have some mp3s up on our site very shortly. The guys recently did an east coast and midwest tour with Bigwig that went really, really well. they will be touring with Bigwig again on the west coast and canada later this year. We are so excited to add another member to our family and can't wait to release the album, "Same Chords, Same Songs, Same Six Strings" which will be in stores on October 29th.From Chris Fogal(singer of the Gamits) : The Gamits need your help! Many of you already know that Luke Mathers has returned to Arizona. WE NEED A BASS PLAYER DAMMIT! We, the gamits, have been touring quite a bit lately. We recently returned from a great European tour and did some warped tour dates and then had to make some changes. We want nothing more than a guy or gal who can fit like a glove on our band for the long run. We have a fill in for our Japan tour, Scott Weigel of the Fairlanes!!! That should be fun. He is in another band though and lives in California so there's that. Anyway, here's a link http://gamits.com/news.php Go there to find out more about this whole thing and what we are and are not looking for in a replacement. Sorry this took so long, Virgil, it got lost in the shuffle. My bad.
