from Lambgoat.com "Legendary Boston hardcore outfit Slapshot has announced their first show in the U.S. in five years. The event will take place on October 13th at the Hideaway in Cambridge, MA, with Some Kind of Hate also slated to appear. [it should be noted that several weeks ago, members of Slapshot did play an impromptu and short set in Cambridge, but nothing official] After originally breaking up in 1999, the band released an album consisting of older recorded tracks, old session recordings, and two new tracks in late-2001. Since that album, "Greatest Hits, Slashes And Crosschecks," was only released in Europe, Bridge Nine Records will now be re-releasing the effort in U.S. with a new layout and liner notes. Look for that one this Winter. Moreover, fans will be glad to know that Slapshot also has plans to record a new full-length for Bridge Nine (I Scream Records in Europe), which should hit stores in early-Summer of 2003. Finally, Slapshot's Oi side project, Stars and Stripes, is also writting new material for a Bridge Nine release."
