The rumors have been flying about the Promise Ring - apparently at one of their West Coast Plea For Peace dates last Wednesday, the band announced their demise. Details are sketchy as of right now, but Brett Gurewitz @ Epitaph/Anti- has confirmed the breakup, saying "I think it's safe to say that they have indeed broken up. I don't know the reasons yet and all I can say is, this is very sad news." When we find out more, we'll let you know. You can read a review of what I think is their finest work, "Wood/Water," here.
