Green Day have posted some more video updates as they continue to work on their follow up to 21st Century Breakdown. Both bassist Mike Dirnt and frontman Billie Joe Armstrong added some cryptic comments to the video, though we'd be surprised if they give you any sort of clue as to what to expect from the band which has dabbled in obscene country music and hyper-earnest Broadway revivalism. Perhaps we can expect a vigorous defence of sagging?
Dirnt, for example said this: "I'm just trying to think of how we can make people feel more attached/as attached to this record as we feel." while Billie Joe added: "I think it's so personal and so voyeuristic. I mean, this is the first time we've ever really sung about fucking."
The band has been writing new material since at least June 2011, and several new songs have surfaced in Green Day's sets over the past year, including "Carpe Diem" and "Stray Heart."
