South Jersey's By Surprise have begun recording their new EP for Topshelf Records. The EP will be produced and engineered by Dave Downham (who was also responsible for Mountain Smashers which is streaming on their Punknews.org Profile) at Familyre Studios in New Jersey. The band is promising more music inspired by music from the 90's indie label boom, as well as writing by Henry David Thoreau, Jack Kerouac, and Douglas Adams.

The 7-inch is due out in the fall.
