Two members of the Pussy Riot group - who were not part of the recent trial have left Russia to avoid prosecution. According to a report, Moscow police said they were searching for remaining band members, which led to the two leaving the country. While they have not announced their whereabouts, they posted their plan to leave via their Twitter and noted (in a Russian language tweet) that they were: "recruiting foreign feminists to prepare new protest actions"
The trial - and conviction - of three members of the activist collective known as Pussy Riot received international attention and was mostly condemned around the world. Even US President Barack Obama expressed disappointment in the verdict and his administration noted: "While we understand the group's behavior was offensive to some, we have serious concerns about the way that these young women have been treated by the Russian judicial system"
