Influential shoegaze outfit My Bloody Valentine are apparently what the Mayans were looking forward to; the band posted on their Facebook that "On 21-12-12 we finished mastering the new album!" The band have been working on the long-awaited follow-up to their classic 1991 album Loveless on and off in the 20-plus years since that album's release, with renewed, sporadic reports on its progress since 2007.

Band leader Kevin Shields previously stated that the album was due before the year's end.
