Billboard.com is reporting that Epic Records will be releasing a double-disc retrospective collection covering the Clash's career entitled "Essential Clash." The album's 40 tracks, placed in chronological order, were selected by Joe Strummer before his untimely death in late December. The songs have been digitally remastered, and the liner notes are said to be extensive, written by journalist Pat Gilbert. The retrospective is slated to come out on March 11th on Epic/Legacy.
