First, Renaldo Matadeen shares his thoughts on the new Touche Amore LP, Is Survived By:

[Jeremy] Bolm's candor, vulnerability and honesty is what makes Is Survived By explicitly profound. It's his diary laid bare for the listener. Poetry in motion. The power, honesty and emotional traction he creates with his gruff, hoarse and throaty delivery resonates like a powder keg lit afire.

Then, Matthew Bentel examines the new album from Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Fly By Wire:

By this point SSLYBY is indie's old dog: they never learn any new tricks, just new routines. The innate grasp at posterity makes it increasingly difficult to write exciting, compelling music. When it uses the present to inform the past, Fly By Wire comes off fresh and engaging. But when the past guides the present, the end result is an overwhelmingly underwhelming record.
