David Bowie's art collection is going up for auction. The collection includes 267 works. The collection includes pieces by Jean-Michel Basquiat, Frank Auerbach, Marcel Duchamp, Henry Moore, Graham Sutherland, and Damien Hirst. The Basquiat, “Air Power,†is expected to sell for between $2.5-3.5 million, and is considered the most valuable piece. Together, the collection is expected to pull in about $13.2 million for Bowie’s family. However, as you know, auctions can get crazy, and the prices may be significantly more, especially considering they were owned by Mr. Bowie. Before the big sale, you can actually see the pieces November 1-10, at Sotheby’s New Bond Street galleries in London. The dates for auction will then be the 10th and 11th.
