Today, Punknews is please to debut the new video by Heavy Static.

Frontman Christian Patrick spoke to Punknews, "'An Evil That Hides' was my attempt to write a song about something other than heartbreak and despair. With that in mind, I wrote about two serial-killing lovers who were lamenting their final murder. The video itself is a nod to the B-movie-style horror genre and quite reminiscent of '80s classics like 'Sleepaway Camp' and 'Friday the 13th.' As I was editing the video, the story slowly changed in my mind and it was in the images that I found the true meaning of the song. It wasn't about serial-killing lovers at all! It was actually about one person's attempt to move on; to put the past behind him/her, and to "bury" the love - and even sadness - afflicting them. Though it seemed like it was two people in the story, it was actually just one. The other person is but a memory; a haunting image that plagues the mind. Sometimes we get stuck in a moment while everything and everyone else continues on without us. It's a sad reality. In the end, I failed at writing about something other than heartbreak and despair."
