"for the past 6 + months i have been doing interviews with magazines, web sites, newspapers et cetera…many of which were in europe. so many times the question came up - "you're coming to europe, are you excited" and everytime i responded the same way "im so excited i don't even know what to do"
now, after one of the more insane days of my life…my answer stands true, it is the question that doesn't. we arent going to europe, and the immediate touring future of since by man is uncertain at best.
the total devistation comes to us just one way…we love to play shows, that is why we are a band, that is why we love to tour. be it iowa, or italy…we live and breath this shit. sweating, and screaming…not just getting in front of some people and playing, but connecting with them. thats why we do this and thats why we can't stop now. sitting here, starring at this screen i want more than anything to type something profound…something that makes some kinda sense out of how fucked up all this is, but my brain is pounding, mashing up against the wall of my skull…terrible. i don't mean to be dramatic, but i just want people to understand how important they are to us, and how important this band is to me. over the past 24 hours our friends have stepped it up. they've called they've offered up all they had to give…and for that, as always, we are eternally greatfull. whether it was simple conversation or major brain storming or keys to the practice spot, or offering up a month and a half of your life to us…it means more than you'll ever know. aimlessly walking around the streets of this fuckin city with my 3 remaining bandmates, meeting up with friends…talking on the phone totally wearing down my batteries, these are all moments that, regardless of how shitty i feel now, i will remember for the rest of my life. as always in total since by man fashion, we spent as much time joking around as we did trying to figure shit out…thats how we do things, thats how we remain sane people (kinda). but we came to dead end after dead end, so here we are.
here we are…alive and well, and despite my currently shitty attitude i must take a step back and realize that simple fact. im alive…and i gotta keep it that way. i have my friends and to them i say i love you, thank you, sorry. this is only the beginning. believe."
truer words were never spoken than at the show. bryan jerabek is no longer playing bass for us. the end of an era, and even more sad, probably an end to a friendship.
we thought we had an idea to go to europe and save ourselves, but it wont work. so close, but no cigar. bryan left us with no time to get this situated and now we are fucked. 6 months of our lives rearranged and its all for nothing
back to square one.
which brings us to this. we need a bass player. maybe milwaukee is exhausted now. it doesn't matter where you are from. anyone. from anywhere. get in touch. we are looking for anyone with a level head, a positive attitude, a sense of responsibility, good gear who wants to tour, have fun, and play bass. apparently that is too much to ask. but if you are at all interested, please, please please email us- band@sincebyman.com or any of our individual band emails.
we might be down but we are not out. thanks to everyone who came to the cactus club on saturday. its everyone that was there that made us realize why we do this. you are our inspiration to keep going. keep moshing, keep screaming, keep dancing your asses off in sweaty little rooms to shitty loud music. this is all about having fun and being a kid. we will be back again before you realize it.
