Popular music-hosting and vendor site Bandcamp has announced that they will be holding a fundraiser for the American Civil Liberties Union. Bandcamp's founder and CEO, Ethan Diamond, has written today a lengthy essay regarding the issue of immigrants and immigration in the United States, along with announcing the details of the fundraiser.

Taking place for the duration of Feb 3rd, the fundraiser will see Bandcamp donating 100% of their share of any sales to the ACLU. This does not affect the musician's cut of the sale.

The fundraiser is, in part, protest of the recent Executive Order issued by US President Donald Trump barring refugees, along with valid visa or green-card holders from select Middle Eastern and African countries, from entering the United States. The Order, nicknamed the "Muslim Ban," has been a source of contention and debate globally, as well as disrupting the travel and business operations for tens of thousands of individuals and companies. The ACLU has been at the vanguard of this issue, contesting the legality of the order and assisting persons in their disputes arising from the order's implementation.

So, if you are against President Trump's so-called "Muslim Ban," be sure to hold off any Bandcamp purchases until Friday. If you are in support of the order, time your purchases for either before or after that day.
