According to an article in the AV club, Spotify has booted a number of racist bands from its catalogue. The action was triggered by a Digital Music News article that highlighted 37 bands that appeared to have racist lyrics. After being alerted of this, Spotify analyzed releases it believed was racist and deleted them from its catalogue. The company stated that it does not have a specific program to review and ban music, but does assess a track's content if it is flagged by a user.
