Justin Lee Brannan of Brooklyn hardcore band Indecision and Most Precious Blood was elected to New York City Council for District 43 last week. The district encompasses the Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, and Dyker Heights regions of Southern Brooklyn. Brannan, a native brooklynite, served as the Director of Communications and Legislative Affairs for Council member Vincent J. Gentile, who he replaced. According to the Bklyner, Brannan told a packed room of supporters at around 10:30 pm on Thursday.
“This is your victory… Real change comes from the ground up, and that is what we did tonight.”
