"Orange County band Thrice have been consistently active in charity by donating proceeds of their recordings to worthwhile organizations, and on Sunday, September 28th, the band gets active with their bodies as well. They will walk in the 2003 Orange County, California Race For The Cure with the Syrentha Savio Endowment (SSE) team. The SSE organization provides chemotherapy and other medication for breast cancer patients who are uninsured and/or cannot afford the expenses. Thrice is donating a portion of retail sales of their current release, The Artist in the Ambulance, to SSE and are now asking others to join them and the SSE in this valuable fight. Thrice are inviting fans to walk with them and the SSE Team on this 5k walk which takes place at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. For a nominal fee of $40 ($27 for the Race for the Cure, $5 for a limited edition SSE/Thrice shirt, and $8 for SSE), and three hours on a Sunday morning, walk and make a real difference in someone's life."

About SSE & Registering For The Thrice Walk: Since its formation in February of 2002, the endowment has raised over $70,000 through National Races for the Cure, charity concerts, auctions, and dinners. The SSE is committed to helping uninsured breast cancer patients get the treatment they need. With a 1 in 8 chance that a woman will contract breast cancer in their lifetime and cancer treatment being very expensive, organizations like SSE are more and more important everyday.
