Deep Elm artist Slowride are the latest victims of stolen equipment. The band found their van robbed and rendered undriveable this past Friday night. Rob, the trio's bassist, posted the following statement on Truepunk.com:

"Yeah, dan made the report this morning. It happened last night in front of dan's father's house. He brought the equipment to Dallas so we could load in to our practice space. ya know what's funny? Someone heard or saw the shit going down and called the cops, and the cops didn't even show up. Nice. So they got dan's SG guitar ($800), my 1979 P-bass ($1000), steve's floor tom ($300), snare ($600), all of his brand new cymbals ($800), all of our merch ($?), and the cd player ($200). Not to mention, they tried to steal the whole van and totally fucked up the whole console. Now we can't even start it. So it has to get towed to the shop to get fixed. No telling how much that's gonna cost. So yeah, we're kinda fucked right now. Hopefully we can borrow some gear for our upcoming local shows. Happy Holidays."
