Artcore Fanzine and Left of the Dial Magazine are presenting the following:
The first week of May 2004 will see a one-time-only seven date tour of the U.K. of a travelling exhibition of Punk Rock Flyer Art. Spanning the entire near thirty year history of Punk Rock and all it's related underground sub-genres, Visual Vitriol features over 1,000 flyers from over a dozen countries. This exciting and dynamic portable exhibition promises to be an outstanding event in the 2004 U.K. Punk Rock calendar…With flyer art from the U.S.A., Canada, U.K., Germany, Austria, France, Italy, Belgium, Netherlands, Hungary, South Korea and Japan, and with featured artists such as; Pushead (Septic Death), Raymond Pettibone (Black Flag) and Biscuits (Big Boys), amongst others, Visual Vitriol is a testimony to the influence of Punk Rock graphic design on the mainstream, from the beginning to the present day. This is not mere nostalgia, it is a lesson in, and a reminder of, the hands-on creative process of D.I.Y.
Visual Vitriol will take place in the daylight hours (1-5 pm) with a live show in the evening (8-11 pm). The shows will feature Biscut's Texas Bombs and Cardiff's Four Letter Word as well as local bands. The tour is expected to continue to Europe in June.
