The Tripwire is reporting that Gammon Records will be releasing Discovered, Covered: The Late Great Daniel Johnston, a tribute to the still-living Texas singer/songwriter. The album is a two-disc set, with the first disc being cover songs from Death Cab For Cutie, Bright Eyes with Nick Zimmer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beck, Sparklehorse with the Flaming Lips, Tom Waits, Calvin Johnson [of Beat Happening/Dub Narcotic/K Records], TV on the Radio, Gordon Gano [of the Violent Femmes], and many more. The second disc will be Johnston's original versions of all songs covered. Discovered, Covered: The Late Great Daniel Johnston will be out on August 24th.
