Interpol is planning to release the follow up to 2002's Turn on the Bright Lights [review] on September 28th. Guitarist Daniel Kessler promises that the record is "a really big growth for the band" and it is far more upbeat than the material from their debut. The band is headed out supporting The Cure on the Curiosa tour this summer and plans to follow that with a headlining tour in November.

Matador is also sponsoring a contest for the record to create ten short films inspired by the band.
