Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. • It was yet another big week in the Against Me! camp, with a White Crosses reissue planned as well as footage surfacing from the band's controversial show in Rochester. WHAT MADNESS WILL NEXT WEEK BRING?
• Riot Fest rolled out its big announcements, with a Danzig legacy set (as well as Weezer, Social Distortion and the previously announced Descendents) announced for the Chicago festival, and Descendents, The Suicide Machines, X, Hot Water Music and others announced for Riot Fest East in Philadelphia.
• Less Than Jake released a new EP and gave away a song from it, "Goodbye, Mr. Personality"
• Rise Against unveiled a new video for "Make it Stop (September's Children)"
• The Internets received a first taste of The Horrible Crowes with a clip of "Black Betty & The Moon"
• Fucked Up morphed into a schoolhouse full of shouting children for their new video, "Queen of Hearts"

Q: How dumb are brand tattoos? Is a brand tattoo the same as getting a band tattoo? A: I'm going to say that unless a brand has paid you money to wreck your physical appearance that getting their tattoo is dumb. Even then it's iffy. I'm not sure if $50,000 is really worth getting a "GoldenPalace.com" tattoo on your back and ruining your life. I don't put brand and band on the same level however. Most people have emotional attachments to bands they get tattooed on their body. That isn't to say that Pepsi isn't a large part of my life, but I don't think I'd quote, "You picked the right one baby" in my senior year book. That said, I have no tattoos. So suck it.

• Alkaline Trio debuted another re-imagined old song from Damnesia, "This Could Be Love"

Q: this one is for rich, what is the appeal of brokncyde? A: I can't really say. I wish I could. I mean, for me there's nothing. I can't fathom what could really make someone a legitimate "fan" of this band. The closest I can tell is it's the lowest common denominator of music. It's simple, it has a fun beat, it requires you vent yourself emotionally in immature ways without having to explore or understand your feelings. You want to fuck that girl and she doesn't want to fuck you? Don't ask why she may not be interested in you, or why it bothers your or even why you'd be interested in someone who's not interested in you. She's a bitch, and bitches are sluts. And while you're at it, let's pop open some malt liquor and roll on some hoes in the club while we dry hump each other. That's rad, right?

I mean, if you're emotionally stunted and unable to fit in but desperately want to look cool, this seems like your ticket. Don't think, don't learn, just spew.
