Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. I'm Bryne Yancey and I'll be your guide through some of the juiciest, most popular and otherwise noteworthy stories from the last seven days. • Against Me! have left Sire/Warner after five years and two full-lengths. In an unrelated story, major label enthusiasts across North America have mobilized to slash the tires of the band's tour bus.
• Decaydance supergroup D.R.U.G.S. released a controversial video for "If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is." Why not just abbreviate the song title as well?
• Blink 182 drummer and reality television star Travis Barker will be helping H2O frontman Toby Morse through his charity, One Life One Chance.
• Jack White of The White Stripes lashed out at profit-seeking record flippers. In other news, a Hoarders marathon was highly-viewed and well-received over the weekend.
• Red Scare announced the signing of Fort Collins, CO's Elway. We've also just received word that Fat Wreck Chords signed them in 2014.
• Arcade Fire, Paramore, Gorillaz, Black Keys, Muse, Slayer were the among Grammy Nominees announced this past week. Tracy Jordan's quest for the elusive EGOT will have to wait another agonizing year.

Q: Why do people get mad at you for things commenters say? A: Punknews' image seems to be crafted by what people read on the site. For a while the stories had some editorial comments and jokes but as the site grew the stories became more factual, less commentary. As a result, it seems a large portion of people's perceptions of the site are crafted by the comments as they are the most frequently updated and largest part of the site. It seems a fair amount of people lose perspective between the people who comment and the people who actually run the site and the dredges of the comments (the sexist, racist, or otherwise ignorant remarks) are the ones that become branded to the site.

We work hard to demonstrate that those fringe opinions are not the ones held by the people who run the site, or even a majority of the readers, but it's not always easy. That said, I think the podcast has helped people hate us for things we've actually said and not things other people have said. -Rich

• The Vans Warped Tour announced the dates for its 2011 run. Expect the 2012 dates to be announced next week.
• The Misfits replaced drummer Robo, who played with the band in 1982 and 1983, and then from 2005 until recently. Let us all momentarily turn our devilocks to the side in memoriam.
• Civet had their van stolen which lead to a high-speed chase, gunfire, and a collision with a poor fire hydrant.
• RVIVR posted their new EP Dirty Water for donation-based download. Some proceeds will go toward getting the band a decent press photo.
• Plan-It-X Fest was announced for 2011, then sold out in a mere 3 hours. Wear deodorant, folks.
• The Ataris are streaming their new 7-inch. Kris Roe looks forward to your comments.

Hello everyone and welcome to Navel Gazing: your look back in the week in Punknews. I'm Bryne Yancey and until further notice, will be handling the Sunday Edition while Adam White disgracefully returns to semi-regular news editing duties. I know our readers tend to fear change, but this one will be seamless and with no unnecessary vowels wasted.

I'll be your guide through some of the juiciest, most popular and otherwise noteworthy stories from the last seven days. • Asian Man Records announced intentions to attempt at reuniting every band ever on the label to celebrate their 15th anniversary. Something tells me skanking will somehow be involved.
• A controversial anti-piracy bill was passed by the US Senate that would give the government the power to circumvent regional controls and shut down websites abroad that host infringing material such as links to illegal music downloads and other pirated software. Still no word on whether or not the Internet is indeed a series of tubes and not, in fact, a truck.
• The intrepid, award-winning journalists over at TMZ stirred the pot by posting footage of The Aquabats frontman MC Bat Commander tossing a child into a crowd surf, drawing the ire of several unfun parents.
• Dropkick Murphys and Against Me! will be touring together in early 2011. It's been reported that the theory of pints of Guinness increasing one's strength will be tested nightly as the tour unfolds.
• Dear Landlord entered the studio to record four new tracks. I think we can all agree that much like the majestic giraffe, this is indeed a fucking miracle.
• Rancid debuted the first installment of their Live From The Living Room video series with a stripped-down performance of "Wrongful Suspicion."
