Toronto's Fucked Up recently recorded a Daytrotter Session in which the band reworked some of their most popular tracks. The band had this to say about the session:
So when we were on tour in the US we stopped and did a Daytrotter session, which is a place where you go up 4 flights of stairs, but it's OK because you don't have to bring any of your own equiptment (even guitars and drum breakables) because half the point of doing a session there is you are using gear that you aren't familiar with. The other point is that it's all analog gear, which is cool for us, because we've used Pro-tools on every recording we've done except for the Police 7" session, some demos, and I think that's it. Even No Pasaran was Pro-tools. Also we had to record all the tracks live on the floor, which was a huge mindfuck. So we did these really strange versions of some classic FU tunes. We also switched instruments, so guitar players were playing drums, etc.
All four songs are available for download at the Daytrotter website. The band most recently released The Chemistry of Common Life and are now on tour in Europe.
