Strummernews.com is holding an event in NYC called "Strummertime In the City," billed as "a celebratory night of live music in tribute to Joe Strummer on the event of his birthday." The show takes place on August 23rd at the Knitting Factory. Headlining will be Crazy Baldhead, a band featuring Vic Ruggerio of The Slackers and King Django (Stubborn Allstars, Skinnerbox), Seanchie & the Unity Squad, The Ruffians, Rudie Crew, Bonebox and others. Proceeds from the show will benefit Strummerville: The Joe Strummer Foundation For New Music.
