• Gene Simmons of Kiss and reality television fame declared this week that that musicians should "Be litigious. Sue everybody. Take their homes, their cars."I for one welcome Gene's tryannical new dystopian music industry.
• An individual concerned by the arguable quality of recent Weezer music wants to raise $10,000,000 for the band to break up
• Less Than Jake streamed their new covers project the TV/EP
• Kris Roe of The Ataris responded to some recent online criticism
• Boy Sets Fire is set to reunite
• Blink-182 will enter the studio soon, as will The Offspring
• The schedule for The Fest 9 was released this week
• This week also brought more tribute covers of Bad Religion songs, including Cheap Girls performing "Kerosene," The Weakerthans performing "Sanity," and William Elliott Whitmore taking on "Don't Pray on Me."

Q: What embarrassing up-da-punx-phase did you go through? I'm talking when you were 14 and thought Choking Victim was the greatest band ever. A: When I was in college…Yeah college. I had found an old army jacket at a flee market. It wasn't too bad except the name on the jacket was something super hokey like, "Crush" or "Blaster" I don't recall but it wasn't the original name patch.

Anyhow, I proceed to take it home and sew a bunch of punk patches on the back for bands like Pennywise, Anti-Flag, and even an ICP patch worked its way on there. The front was probably 10 pounds worth of metal buttons. You remember, the little ones that labels send you free with your mail order. Anyhow, I had pretty much ever button I ever owned on this jacket. Couple that with the fact that the jacket was too big around and the sleeves barely made it past my forearms, and you had a stupid looking jacket. I wore that thing for about 5 months straight and never washed it (because that would require removing my 3,000 buttons). However, I did loan the jacket to my wife on of the first nights we hung out, because she was cold and she still remembers it being really sweet. So…Maybe it was kinda punx. -Rich

• We had a lot of fun this week with the upcoming Bad Religion tribute compilation. The organizers have been unveiling songs daily and they've all been the subject of much debate here on the `Org. Check out Cobra Skulls and NOFX's Fat Mike performing "Give You Nothing", Polar Bear Club playing "Better Off Dead", Frank Turner playing "My Poor Friend Me", and Tegan and Sara's version of "Suffer."
• Speaking of Bad Religion, frontman Greg Graffin was recently interviewed by the Scientific American about his new book
• Fat Wreck Chords has announced their first compilation in eight yearsfeaturing music from their entire roster (I'm particularly excited for new Chixdiggit!, how about you?)
• Rancid continues to unveil unreleased videos for old songs, this time featuring "Who Would've Thought"
• Less Than Jake is promising a performance of their album Losing Streak at Riot Fest
• Fletcher Dragge on commented on Jim Lindberg's departure from Pennywise

Q: Why do fans feel personally attacked when a band does something they don't agree with? (not counting when Tom Gabel started whining on Twitter. That was upsetting to everyone) A: I can't speak for everyone, but I know my theory (and one Aubin voiced recently on the punknews podcast, as well), is that kids develop a personal connection to smaller bands. Particularly one with perhaps more radical politics. These are bands that are more than just music, they're people and beliefs that some listeners connect with. Therefore, they feel that much more betrayed when a band does something that the listener feels the band shouldn't (or wouldn't) do. It's some very deep and psychological stuff…man. -Rich

• Madball has fired drummer Jay Weinberg while on tour in Canada. As such, Canada now has an extra drummer we need to get rid of. We might trade him to Denmark for a bassist.
• Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger are headed out on yet another tour together.
• The BBC has assembled an hour-long Bring Me The Horizon documentary
• Tiger Army is set to celebrate Halloween with "Power of Moonlight" live
