Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week… The People Must Have Something Good To Read On A Sunday This week's most popular stories Anti-Flag was forced to cancel their "G20 Welcoming Party" show in their hometown of Pittsburg due to the proximity of their venue to the expanded security perimeter surrounding the summit. They encouraged fans to get out and protest anyways. Matt Bellamy of Muse kicked up a heated discussion by suggesting that all internet data usage be progressively taxed to subsidize artists. Tech industry blog TechCrunch has been increasingly critical of similar musician-bred solutions to the issue, sarcastically suggesting we should just throw up our hands and ban music. This comes after some in the music industry suggested that royalties should be collected for usage such as 30 second song samples in digital stores. Scientists decided to pit vinyl against CD and digital formats in an attempt to quantify fidelity with interesting results. Critically acclaimed hip hop artist and actor Mos Def is collaborating with Damon Dash of Roc-A-Fella Records to produce a documentary about pioneering Detroit punk outfit Death.

Social Distortion is set to hit the studio in January of 2010 to work on new material. forgetters, which features Jawbreaker/Jets to Brazil frontman Blake Schwarzenbach and original Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon, is set to record a 7" in October. Label Paper and Plastick is set to release Frank Turner's First Three Years LP. Weezer revealed their Raditude track listing and bonus material. We also saw artwork from the debut from Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. This week saw streams of three big upcoming records, those being AFI's Crash Love, the Swellers Ups and Downsizingand Strung Out's Agents of the Underground. The recently reunited Small Brown Bike has been confirmed for The Fest 8. Converge is set to kick off a two month tour of the US with Mastodon, and High on Fire among others. Hot Water Music is also set to get back together for a November tour of Germany. This week brought a video from Brand New for the song "At the Bottom"and images of Iggy Pop from the Lego Rock Bandvideo game. Who knew? Our good friends at Pastepunk were apparently keeping track and they graciously decided to chat with Punknews' Aubin Paul, Adam White and Brian Shultz to celebrate the occasion. Speaking of ten year anniversaries, Rise Against have one coming up. The band will celebrate with a show in Chicago dubbed "Songs from the Fat Years" that will feature just that, including cuts from 2001's The Unraveling and 2003's Revolutions Per Minute. Weakerthans frontman John K. Samson is set to release a 7 inch series honouring the roads of his home province of Manitoba. Poison The Well were the latest band to suffer theft on the road, losing their van and gear from a hotel parking lot in Detroit.

This week brought news that the Smashing Pumpkins are set to release a 44-song album periodically and for free. London's The Steal are calling it quits. This week had upcoming show announcements from the reunited Small Brown Bike. We also had word that Shook Ones, Title Fight and We Are the Union are set to tour together. We had more Fest 8 confirmations from Sakes Alive!!, We Are The Union, Defeater, Hostage Life and many more. Brand New unveiled their new record Daisy in a limited stream. Green Day unveiled the new video for their single "East Jesus Nowhere," and also performed the song live at VMAs. All Time Low also posted their clip for "Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)." Tom Gabel had some fun with the latest Against Me! studio video, addressing concerns that his others were boring. The trailer for new punk rock-themed web sitcom Oblivion also premiered this week. Artist Rob Dobi also added 5 new scenesters to his Your Scene Sucks collection.

This week we said goodbye to legendary punk poet Jim Carroll (1949-2009). John Lydon's influential post-Sex Pistols act hasn't played in 17 years, but the group wil return for a series of shows to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Metal Box. The presence of Kurt Cobain as a playable character in the new Guitar Hero 5 video game has enranged the members of the Nirvana camp. Cobain's widow Courtney Love threatened to sue the shit out of Activision, while the developer claims that Love signed agreements allowing for Cobain's image to be used. Former Nirvana members Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl were also dismayed, with Grohl urging Activision to "re-lock" Kurt's character so that it can't be used for anything but Nirvana songs in the game. In less contentious Nirvana news, the band's 1992 Reading Set will arrive as a CD / DVD set in November. Influential post-hardcore band Small Brown Bike has announced plans to reform and play shows in the near future. At a recent product announcement Apple unveiled the iTunes LP. The digital download will accompany music with lyrics, liner notes, video, photos and other content. Another forward thinking digital initiative has arrived from Nick Cave, who has released an enhanced ebook for the iPhone. It features the text of his second novel The Death of Bunny Munro with an audiobook read by Cave and featuring original music.

Rise Against has announced plans to work on new album for release in 2010. The Lawrence Arms are gearing up for their upcoming anniversary show by asking fans to choose the set list. Brendan Kelly was also interviewed by NME with a report on his favorite songs. Suburban Home records is giving away free albumsfor their 14th Anniversary. The kids from the Harry Potter movies were spotted checking out popular UK punk act Gallows at recent shows. BYO Records has unveiled Let Them Know covers by Dropkick Murphys, American Steel, and In The Red among others. Keep an eye open for upcoming tour dates from Shook Ones and Title Fight (co-headlining) as well as an upcoming trek from the Star Fucking Hipsters, Citizen Fish and Molotov Compromise. The Fest 8 has confirmed more bands, including Broadway Calls, The Swellers, and Panthro UK United 13. New video footage arrived this week of Frank Turner performing "Poetry of the Deed" live on CNN and Brian Fallon of the Gaslight Anthem acoustically performing "Casanova, Baby!"

He'll appear with the band at the two day Cypress Hill's Smokeout Fest. We've also had word that Sublime intends to reunite for that event. Our best guess is they've got Black Lantern Bradley Nowell fronting them (too soon?). forgetters, the new band that features Jawbreaker / Jets to Brazil frontman Blake Schwarzenbach and original Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon, is set to play a show this September in NYC. Speaking of Against Me! this week saw frontman Tom Gabel post a few videos of the band in the studio.

The Riot Before has signed to Paper and Plastick. The group plans to hit the studio this winter to record a new full length. Punk veterans Bad Religion are repressing some early albums on vinyl. Lucero posted the new song "Smoke" from their upcoming album 1372 Overton Park, due in October. The 4th Annual Red Oktoberfest in Chicago will feature bands like the Lawrence Arms, Off With Their Heads, the Copyrights, La Plebe, Smalltown, the Menzingers, Mike Park and the Reganomics (Ryan's Hope). The Misfits have a huge tour lined up with dates in Mexico, the US, and Canada. Guttermouth is headed to the great white north. The Bronx' new sideproject Mariachi El Bronx will support the Killers on tour. Finally Blink-182 has postponed shows following the death of band friend DJ AM. Among his thoughts was the opinion "the idea that by stealing music from the internet you're somehow crusading for justice against the big bad record labels is absolute fucking bullshit… Britney Spears and David Geffen aren't going to downsize their condo's because you didn't pay for a Fugazi album." Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump was arrested in Los Angeles last Tuesday being picked up for a two-year-old warrant for driving without a license. He was released on Wednesday after posting $15,000 bail. The Lawrence Arms are planning a new EP for October 27th titled Buttsweat and Tears. They'll support the release with a 10th Anniversary show in their hometown of Chicago and a week of west coast dates in November. Strung Out unveiled the new track "Black Crosses" this week from their upcoming 20th anniversary full length Agents of the Underground.

AFI has announced a bonus edition of Crash Love that will feature six bonus tracks. Sum 41 posted an update on their new record. The pop punk act is now writing and recording demos. Fellow canucks Tegan and Sara have detailed their new record Sainthood. Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba is hitting the studio to record a solo album this month. Red Scare has announced that it will be reissuing the back catalogue from 90s-era pop-punk outfit Sicko. Defunct pop punk act Fenix Tx is no longer defunct and has a new album set for 2010. Hellcat Records has signed Canadian psychobilly act the Creepshow. This week saw the new Fake Problems video for "Diamond Rings" and a DVD trailer for the Get Up Kids' Something To Write Home About. The Bouncing Souls announced tour dates with Bayside and Broadway Calls. The full lineup of Fun Fun Fun Fest was unveiled and it includes bands like Danzig, Mission of Burma, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth Brigade and Fucked Up.

The band will however continue on, with the remaining three members in search of a new singer. Former Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil frontman Blake Schwarzenbach has put a fork in his new band Thorns of Life. The short lived and much buzzed about act leaves behind no studio work, but they do have a successor. Schwarzenbach's new band is forgetters, a band which apparently includes former Against Me! drummer Kevin Mahon. AFI has unveiled the track listing and cover art for Crash Love. The album's due on September 29th and is the band's first since 2006's Decemberunderground. Nirvana was in the news a few times this week. The band's debut full length Bleach is headed for a deluxe reissueon Sub Pop. A plaque in honor of late frontman Kurt Cobain also stirred controversy in his hometown of Aberdeen, Washington. Town officials aren't happy with the language in the engraved "drugs are bad for you, they will fuck you up" quote.

The Lawrence Arms] have titled their upcoming 7-inch Buttsweat and Tears. Converge detailed their upcoming full length Axe to Fall, due on October 20th. Banner Pilot has posted another song from their Fat Wreck debut Collapser, titled "Skeleton Key." Broadway Calls streamed their new full length "Midnight Hour." Weezer has unveiled their first single from their new album, dubbed "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To." Scranton, PA's Captain, We're Sinking! posted a free download of their new demo online. This week also brought new music from Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. The lineup for Riot Fest Westincludes bands like Screeching Weasel, Dead Milkmen, Adolescents, and Naked Raygun. Fun Fun Fun Fest adds Fucked Up, and D.R.I. among others. Have Heart also detailed their final show with Bane, and Shipwreck a.d..

Tentatively titled CMX the proposed format would include songs, lyrics, videos, liner notes, artwork and other bonus content. The news comes on the heels of rumours that Apple is working on an alternative called Cocktail. CNN put the spotlight on Muslim punk bands this week, focusing on Boston's The Kominas along with the novel Taqwacore. Strung Out are celebrating their 20th anniversary with a new album. The record is titled Agents of the Underground and is due out September 29th. The band swill support with a tour in October.

Lucero detailed their new full length titled 1372 Overton Park. The new record is due on October 6th. Bridge Nine has announced plans to reissue material from Agnostic Front. Andrew W.K. has announced plans to tour with the Calder Quartet, a classical string quartet. The Gaslight Anthem has announced more dates on their tour with Murder By Death. New labelmates Paramore and the Swellers will soon hit the road with the Paper Route. Brand New posted their new song "At the Bottom," taken from their upcoming full length Daisy. The Star Fucking Hipsters also posted a new song, "3000 Miles Away" from their upcoming Alternative Tentacles full length. Punknews community regular TahoeJeff graced us with ukulele versions of classic punk songs. On the video front we saw Big D and The Kids Table's "Fluent in Stroll"along with Paramore's "Ignorance."

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters has launched a new band dubbed Them Crooked Vultures. The act also features Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin. The Swellers managed to accidently share a split 7" with Metallica. A mix up at the pressing plant resulted in a pairing of a new Swellers song with Metallica's live cover of Black Sabbath's "Iron Man." Youth Brigade expanded their upcoming tour plans and further detailed the hotly anticipated "Let Them Know" boxed set. The set will feature the DVD documentary on the band and BYO Records, a coffee table book, and an LP featuring covers of BYO tracks by NOFX, the Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, the Briefs and many others.

Brian Fallon of the Gaslight Anthem dismissed rumours of an upcoming solo record, stating that the band will instead get to work on their next LP. Brand New detailed their upcoming full length Daisy and unveiled the cover art and track listing. The Sidekicks revealed details on their upcoming Red Scare full length Weight of Air, due this September. Jon Snodgrass also set expectations on the next Drag The River album, stating that nothing would be available until 2010 or 2011. Pearl Jam announced that Bad Religion, and Ted Leo and The Pharmacists would server as their August tour support. The Lawrence Arms' Neil Hennessy joined the Copyrights for the ongoing Red Scare Tour. ALL will get back together for a one-off show this October in Portland, Oregon. This week Teenage Bottlerocket previewed "Skate or Die," Thrice posted a stream of their new full length Beggars and Eulogy Records launched a free sampler. On the visual side of things, Bomb The Music Industry! unveiled their video for "Wednesday Night Drinkball" while Broadway Calls posted "Be All You Can't Be."

This week we said goodbye to singer-songwriter and frontman of Mink DeVille, Willy DeVille (1950-2009). The new additions include a Gunmoll reunion show and apperances from Carpenter, This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb, Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves, Vicious Cycle, American Steel and Drag The River. Dead to Me posted the song "Modern Muse" from their upcoming full length African Elephants. The band also announced that guitarist / co-vocalist Jack Dalrymple did not participate it the recording, nor will he join the band on upcoming tours. Bassist / vocalist Chicken insists that Dalrymple is still in the band though, he's just taking a fatherhood sabbatical. With their recent reunion the Get Up Kids are getting all nostalgic on us. In a recent interview Jim Suptic discussed his love for Fugazi and outright apologized if the Get Up Kids' influence help create today's glam rock-like emo / punk scene.

Suburban Home announced the next three Under The Influence pairings. Look for splits between O Pioneers!!! and New Bruises, Joey Cape paired with Mike Hale, and Kevin Seconds with Kepi Ghoulie. Jello Biafra has returned with a new band dubbed Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine. The band features Billy Gould of Faith No More, Kimo Ball of Freak Accident, Ralph Spight of Victims Family, and Jon Weiss. The record The Audacity of Hype will arrive in October on Alternative Tentacles. Banner Pilot has posted the track "Greenwood" from their upcoming Fat Wreck Chords debut Collapser. Panic at the Disco has unveiled the song "New Perspective" from soundtrack to the upcoming film Jennifer's Body Label Paper + Plastick also offered up a free digital sampler this week. Chuck Ragan has announced the dates for the 2009 Revival Tour with Jim Ward (At The Drive-In, Sleepercar, Sparta), Tim Barry (Avail) and Dave Hause (The Loved Ones). Brand New has tour dates coming up with Manchester Orchestra, Thrice, and Glassjaw. AFI has shows scheduled in support of their upcoming Crash Love. Polar Bear Club will play dates in Europe followed by CD release shows. Have Heart's world-spanning final tour continues with appearances from Crime in Stereo, Cruel Hand, End of a Year and Foundation. The Letters Organize have announced a reunion show this August in Atlanta, GA. Fake Problems tour plans continue to fluxuate with the cancellation of four more shows. Finally this week saw a contestant on Indonesia Idol perform NOFX's "The Brews." The folks who run The Festin Gainesville announced their initial lineup, which features a vast number of bands including 7Seconds, Dillinger Four, Less Than Jake and Strike Anywhere. Thrice addressed the leak of their upcoming record Beggars, expressing disappointment but vowing to move forward. Later this week they did just that by pushing up the digital release to August 11th. Former Against Me! drummer Warren Oakes discussed his departure from the band and his new restaurant, stating "It felt like that it was time for a new chapter, so I just threw myself into this completely." It was revealed this week that Mest were the previously unidentified band linked to the extortion charge against Elgin James of Righteous Jams. According to the original complaint, Mest was attacked in Boston and was told they could stop further attacks by making a $5,000 "donation" to FSU. The Beastie Boys delayed their new album and cancel their tour after Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his left parotid gland. Ben Weasel did a round of interviews this week, addressing the absence of Jughead at recent Screeching Weasel reunion shows and discussing his next solo record.

Teenage Bottlerocket detailed their new album, unveiling the track listing and cover art. Their labelmates None More Black are writing for a Fat Wreck release next year. Screeching Weasel, the Sword, and Cobra Starship are set to appear on the upcoming Jennifer's Body soundtrack. Victory has signed Before There Was Rosalyn, who claim to be "a ministry first, and a band second." Speaking of religious acts, The Sandwiches unveiled details on their "Hitting Refresh to Drop Witty Comments" EP. Having wrapped up their tour with the Offspring, Sum 41 are now back in the studio to finish their album. This week the The Bronx unveiled the song "Quinceniera" from their counterparts Mariachi el Bronx. Chuck Ragan, Jim Ward, Tim Barry and Dave Hause will perform on the 2009 Revival Tour. Nothington will tour the US in support of their upcoming record. The Measure SA will play shows leading up to Fest. Social Distortion will play shows with TAT and the Strangers. Guttermouth has US shows scheduled while A Wilhelm Scream will play Europe, the US and Canada in the coming months. It looks like Blink-182's entire kickoff performance has been bootlegged. On a related note, Tom DeLonge will now personally spay or neuter your pets for you. I've seen him do it. It's gross. Authorities allege James started the FSU street gang in Boston the 1990s to establish control over the punk rock scene there. He previously appeared in the infamous Boston Beatdown DVD series and was featured in a National Geographic documentary on Straight Edge. Ten people were arrested at the Knoxville stop of the 10 for $10 hardcore tour, which fatures bands like Poison The Well, Madball, and Bane. According to a local news report, the incident stemmed from a conflict between bouncers and the crowd which spilled out into the parking lot. According to a recent report from music industry veteran Wayne Rosso, EMI Group has been contacting small accounts, mostly independent "mom & pop" record stores, to tell them that they would no longer sell them product. A major development this week came when the makers of popular rhythm video game Rock Band announced a system to allow independent bands to submit music to the game. A band or artist will soon be able to submit their music to freelance developers or develop their own "track charts" in house.

Social Distortion has announced plans to record in December or January. Banner Pilot has detailed their upcoming record Collapser, due out on September 1st. Naked Raygun is planning to hit the studio soon to record for a new 7-inch series. In a move that returns the labels to its roots, Equal Vision Records has launched a new krishna-core imprint Mantralogy. This November look for the Lawrence Arms to hit the road with Teenage Bottlerocket and Cobra Skulls. Teenage Bottlerocket is also recruiting extras for an upcoming video shoot. Fake Problems has announced rescheduled dates with Ninja Gun. None More Black will also play a short run of shows in August with Lifetime, 7 Seconds and the Bouncing Souls among others. This week brought new music from Bane ( "The Bold And The Beautiful") and Frank Turner ("The Road"). Exclaim's Garageland video series visited Warped Tour and spoke with bands like NOFX, Alexisonfire, and Gallows in a quest to get a consensus on the tour's worst band. Finally we have footage of Bruce Springsteen performing the classic Clash single "London Calling" at the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London's Hyde Park. The distributor worked with a vast set of labels including Asian MAn, Thick, Springman, the Union Label Group, Chunksaah, Doghouse, Lookout, Jump Start, and Red Scare. AFI has completed their new record Crash Love and has set a September 29th release date. Brand New excited fans with the announcement of a performance alongside Glassjaw this November. They also apparently changed the name of their new record to Daisy. Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor gave some advice to unsigned artists, suggesting they give away high-quality DRM-free MP3s, collect email addresses in exchange for downloads, then offer a variety of premium packages for sale.

Drummer Jon Reilly of Big D and the Kids Table left the band. The group is currently preparing their new record Fluent in Stroll. Former Bayside member Andrew Elderbaum has a new project with the fate-tempting name of Victory Records, which he may just rename Victory Rex if the label gets litigious. The Aquabats posted an update on their new record. They also discussed the controversy surrounding a recent Denver ska festival. Labelmates Strike Anywhere, Crime in Stereo, Polar Bear Club and Ruiner will tour together soon. Look for Dillinger Four, the Riverboat Gamblers and the Arrivals as well Kinda Like A Fest 5 will feature Dead To Me, Broadway Calls and many others in Half Moon Bay, CA. This week brought a fan-shot live video of Rise Against performing "Savior" and the Gaslight Anthem performing live-to-air on BBC Live Lounge. This week also saw Mean Magazine's Cinemash recreate a scene from the 1986 Gary Oldman / Chloe Webb film Sid & Nancy. In this version Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt appear as the infamous Sex Pistols member and his equally storied partner. The unabashed Bruce Springsteen nuts were joined on stage by the Boss at this weekend's Glastonbury Festival. He performed "The '59 Sound" with the band. Gaslight frontman Brian Fallon was also featured captured performing a solo cover of the Leonard Cohen classic "Hallelujah." There were a few big signings this week. A Wilhelm Scream went to Paper & Plastick, with a five-song 12-inch out this fall. Flint, MI's the Swellers joined up with Fueled By Ramen, with a new ful length due in the fall. Producer Butch Vig unveiled some news on the next Against Me! record, revealing that the band would start pre-production soon with studio time expected in August. Blink-182 have finished tracking their first new, post-reunion track titled "Up All Night." Every Time I Die was also in the news, discussing the departure of drummer Mike Novak.

Many bands were busy working on new recordings this week. Brand New discussed their next record and the future of the band. Nothington announced their sophomore full length for BYO Records. Popular act Paramore detailed their forthcoming album. Polar Bear Club is set to release a teaser 7-inch this month. Red Scare announced plans to distribute the new EP from The Isotopes. Blaqk Audio, the side project from AFI members Davey Havok and Jade Puget recorded a Love and Rockets cover for an upcoming tribute. Andrew Jackson Jihad detailed their new record Can't Maintain. The Bouncing Souls kicked off the month with a new song, "Ghosts On The Boardwalk." Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco posted a cover of Sublime's "Boss DJ." This week saw videos from the Riverboat Gamblers ("Victory Lap"), garage rock act Wavves ("No Hope Kids"), and UK pop singer-songwriter Lily Allen ("Fuck You") This year's Red Scare Tour will feature Cobra Skulls, the Copyrights, the Sidekicks and the Menzingers. Youth Brigade will also hit the road with Off With Their Heads. Finally Bomb the Music Industry and Laura Stevenson will tour the US.

In addition, their label Sub Pop will reissue the band's first two albums, 1994's Diary and 1995's LP2, on CD and LP on September 15th. The records will be remastered, and augmented with rare bonus tracks and new liner notes. No Use For A Name guitarist Dave Nassie confirmed that he's leaving that band to join Bleeding Through. Punknews favourite Chuck Ragan streamed two new solo songs this week, previewing the tracks "Glory" and "Rotterdam." His label also announced the return of the Revival Tour this fall.

The lineup for San Diego's North Park Awesome Fast will feature Andrew Jackson Jihad, Dead To Me, Grabass Charlestons, the Arrivals, Tiltwheel, and Toys That Kill among others. In addition to their previously announced west coast tour dates (and upcoming new album), the Mighty Mighty Bosstones announced a few east coast appearances for the summer. Banner Pilot has completed their sophomore LP, their first to be released on Fat Wreck Chords. The Beastie Boys unveiled the track listing for their upcoming 17 song full length Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 1. Sabot Productions announced plans to reissue Lucero's first five albums on 180 gram vinyl. The Sandwiches, a band made up of Punknews community regulars, have unveiled their new song "Who is Phone." Bridge Nine Records previewed new songs from Strike Anywhere, Death Before Dishonor, Crime in Stereo, and Polar Bear Club among others. Newark, DE's the Casting Out posted a new song from an upcoming digital EP. Rx Bandits unveiled another new song this week, "Bring Our Children Home Or Everything Is Nothing." Fat Wreck posted a download of Against Me!'s "Unsubstantiated Rumors" from their upcoming collection The Original Cowboy. Green Day unveiled their video for the song "21 Guns." A video of Brand New performing a new song "Gasoline" at London's Manchester Academy also surfaced online. Finally we saw some awesome London Calling inspired art by Georgia-based artist Erika Iris Simmons aka Iri5.

Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week… The People Must Have Something Good To Read On A Sunday This week's most popular stories This week Against Me! unveiled that George Rebelo of Hot Water Music has joined the band as their new drummer. Rebelo replaces the recently departed Warren Oakes, who left the band after a number of years to, at least in part, focus on his new Mexican restaurant. Blink-182's high profile reunion continues to roll along. Tom Delonge discussed the Rush and Pink Floyd inspired new song that they plan to unveil on tour, along with a free film and album from his other project Angels and Airwaves titled Love. Anti-Flag protest California's Proposition 8 with a new 7-inch EP on Fat Wreck Chords. The band will also be joined by Alexisonfire as co-headliners on the forthcoming Eastpak Antidote Tour. With the start of this year's Warped Tour imminent there's lots of news from that camp. Popular video game Rock Band is promising the release of Warped-themed track packs, while NOFX is set to be featured on the upcoming Warped Tour comp with an unreleased song. In other festival news the lineup for Riot Fest has been expanded to feature Butthole Surfers, New Bomb Turks, Off With Their Heads, 88 Fingers Louie, and Pegboy.

Many bands are hard at work on new records. Face To Face is writing and plans to hit the studio in July. Cobra Skulls detailed the art and track listing for the July release of American Rubicon. The Lawrence Arms will enter the studio soon to record a new 7". Moneen's next will be The World I Want to Leave Behind and will arrive on September 15th. Polar Bear Club detailed their upcoming Chasing Hamburg. Finally Glassjaw looks to have completed their new EP. The Mad Caddies have tour dates set for California and Europe soon. Naked Raygun, Paint It Black and Shot Baker will tour together this September. Rx Bandits posted a new song from their forthcoming record Mandala titled "Hope Is A Butterfly, Not Net Its Captor." Set Your Goals unveiled the track "Gaia Bleeds" from their Epitaph debut, featuring Jon Gula of Turmoil. This week brought us video footage of the Gaslight Anthem performing "Live on the Interface" as well as Rancid on the Tonight Show playing "Last One To Die." Each and every Punknews story is built from tips contributed by you fine folks, and here's what got the community talking this week… The People Must Have Something Good To Read On A Sunday This week's most popular stories Fans were shocked this week to see a break in the ranks of popular punk act Against Me!. Drummer Warren Oakes has left the band, in a decision he called "mutual" and "amicable" to run a Mexican restaurant in the band's hometown of Gainesville, FL. Recent comments from Mars Volta frontman Cedric Bixler Zavala have hinted that members of At The Drive-In may have reconciled their differences, however Jim Ward, who moved on to play in Sparta and Sleepercar seemed less than enthusiastic about addressing reunion talk. The Fest, which has become one of the most important punk rock events of the year, is set to return for it's 8th year from October 30th to November 1st. More than 200 bands are expected to participate. Punknews favourites Paint It Black have announced that Fat Wreck Chords will release the band's second 7" of the summer in August. The group previewed the song "Salem" from the first disc, set for release next week on Bridge Nine.

The Casualties have set a release date for their eighth album We Are All We Have. Drummer Mark Eggers called it the band's "most diverse album" yet. Pinhead Gunpowder detailed their upcoming greatest hits compilation "Kick Over The Traces." Victory Records will release the next record from Iowa based Destrophy. A tribute to Atom And His Package has been announced, with bands like Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, MC Chris, and MC Lars involved. Gaslight Anthem confirmed dates for their headlining tour. The group will be joined by Murder By Death on all shows and will feature the Loved Ones, Frank Turner, Jesse Malin and Broadway Calls on select dates. Rx Bandits and Dredg also announced a portion of their summer tour. The Get Up Kids detailed their retunion tour, which includes shows in Europe and the UK in August and September, followed by shows in the US in September and October. This week you could preview "Carry the Torch: A Tribute to Kid Dynamite" featuring songs from the Ergs, Static Radio NJ, This Is Hell and No Trigger among others. Brody Dalle's new band Spinnerette also debuted their new single "Baptized By Fire" Finally this week saw more video of Blink-182 reunion performances. The popular three piece performed "Dammit" and "What's My Age Again?" on Jimmy Kimmel and "The Rock Show " live on the Daily Habit.
